Standing Mirror is a frame-less free standing mirror held by a lightweight metal wireform. The contrasting properties of the two components – solid and permeable, light and heavy – are what give the design its character.
A single piece of metal wire is bent to form the standing frame of the mirror. The wireframe holds a glass mirror in place hovering over the surface on which it stands. The weight of the mirror acts as a keystone solidifying the structure as a whole.
The circular glass mirror has a rounded polished edge which allows the frame-less edge to be easily handled. The backside of the glass is coated in a dusty turquoise blue.
Its -gift- box seeks also to use the least amount of material as possible. The glass mirror is secured in a flip out pocket that forms the back wall of the box, with the wire form sitting in front. The box is simply folded together with no glueing, sticking or extra materials required.
