This beautifully unique plant has a Cacti genus but has slightly different needs to a standard Cactus.
This epiphytic or lithophytic jungle cactus was found by Carl Wercklé in Costa Rica. It also occurs in Columbia, Western Venezuela, Ecuador and Northern Peru.

Growing on trees, it produces masses of many-branched somewhat 4-angled long stems.
Body: shrubby, branching from the base and higher, hanging, to 1.5 m long.
With long round stems this plant can grow over a metre in length and so is the perfect trailing or cascading shelf plant.
In optimum conditions it will flower, these are usually orange-pink or white.
Rhipsalis Wercklei is very easy to grow and propagate. It will take various conditions, from quite cool to quite warm (10-25°C) and it grows fairly quickly, giving a sizeable plant in a couple of years. They are best grown in hanging pots to give the leaves enough room to develop. It prefers bright, indirect light and a well drained soil or cactus mix. Keep the soil moist but don’t allow it to sit in water or the plant will rot. It does appreciate humidity, but will do well in normal household temperatures and conditions.

Please note that the photo is indicative, each plant has different shape and size. This plant comes in a plastic hanging pot.
Dimensions: pot size Ø 14 cm / vine length 35 cm (approx)
