David and Kavi (a.k.a D.S. & Durga) were pioneers in DIY Brooklyn. They turned all that they loved in music, nature, myth and design into fancy fragrances in their tiny Bushwick apartment. Liner notes, playlists, images, graphics, and films expand upon the world inside the glass. Each of their fumes is a bold and rich narrative. They started from scratch and they still made all in-house.<\/p>\n

Japanese forests contain numerous trees with wood that is sacred in traditional religious ceremonies. The connection to the forest is realized in ritual offerings that include incense made from these rare woods.\u00a0Hinoki wood\u2019s strong timber has been used for temples, Noh theaters, baths, and masu. Hinoki from the Kiso forest was sourced for the holy Ise shrine in Mie Prefecture. Sawara Cypress is a sturdy lemon scented \u201cfalse\u201d cypress with red stringy bark. The timber is also used for temples and shrines. It grows wild on the is- lands of Kyushu and Honshu.\u00a0Asahi zuru maple is an ancient variety of maple native to Japan with beautifully ornate pink, white, and green leaves.\u00a0Its name means \u201cswan at dawn.\u201d<\/p>\n
