Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, established in 1958 in Denmark, has housed exhibitions with some of the most renowned international artists, presenting an exhibition programme that has resonated strongly with the public for over 6 decades. This is a poster featuring the work “Le futur du pass\u00e9” (1971), by Danish artist Asger Jorn. The work is part of the series Etudes et Surprises, which reveals a more delicate and sensual side of Jorn\u2019s artistic expression.
\nIn this woodcut, influences from both Japanese art and Edvard Munch can be felt. Jorn was one of the central figures of 20th-century Danish art, known for challenging artistic conventions through humor, irony, experimentation, and a fascination with breaking the boundaries between different forms of art.
\nHis works often explore universal themes such as life, death, love, and happiness, populated by imaginative figures that reflect the complexity of human experience.
