Rustic hardwood folding bench with a distressed finish.
These folding benches were used in Indian weddings, public functions and festivals. Brought in by trucks and set up for the duration of the function. When the venue was finished, they were folded & loaded up the truck, on to a new venue.
They have markings and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. Over the years they got a nice weathered distressed finish. Old broken planks from the top replaced with planks from another one, the nails are removed and replaced by metal parts. The legs are often replaced as well with a more sturdy iron support for stability.
Each bench minimally restored and kept as original as possible.
