This wonderful botanical print brings an exotic botanical atmosphere to any home. The original image dating back to early 1800s.
Inspired by the cyanotype process, one of the oldest ways of recording the world around us, this image has been digitally restored. Scratches and holes removed and the plant is now ready to hang from your wall.
The process of cyanotype uses a mixture of iron compounds which, when exposed to UV light from the sun, create these intense Prussian Blue colours with a surprisingly detailed white shadow of the subject that was recorded. The technique was invented by John Herschel in 1841, and was popularized by photographer and botanist Anna Atkins.
High quality print with archival ink on enhanced matte paper.
The print will be delivered unframed protectively packed in a cardboard tube – no frame is included. If you do want a frame for the print please have a look at our frames collection.
