David and Kavi (a.k.a D.S. & Durga) were pioneers in DIY Brooklyn. They turned all that they loved in music, nature, myth and design into fancy fragrances in their tiny Bushwick apartment. Liner notes, playlists, images, graphics, and films expand upon the world inside the glass. Each of their fumes is a bold and rich narrative. They started from scratch and they still made all in-house.
New York at night in abstract aromatics—pineapple lights, iris as twilight’s purple tones, dianthus as magenta make-up, and darkness in amber.
Top Notes: Pink pineapple, galbanum, black pepper
Heart Notes: Orris concrete, Magenta dianthus, Orange flower
Base Notes: Black amber, Balkan tobacco, Sandalwood
The vibrant city of New York City, especially at night, is a symphony of abstract aromas: neon lights reminiscent of pineapple can be perceived, the sweetness of iris wafts as the purple tones of twilight, while dianthus exudes a magenta scent, akin to a lively makeup, all wrapped in the darkness of amber. The Black Magenta is a fragrance that captures the bold and enterprising essence of the Big Apple. Decidedly bold and somewhat transgressive, yet refined, this fragrance embodies the meeting of the more eccentric and sophisticated side of New York nightlife.
